BET Pulls Plug On Celebration of Gospel!

With over 2.6 million views and astounding ratings every year, Celebration of Gospel has been pulled from the BET line up! After meeting with advertisers in New York BET reps said they will no longer broadcast the special on their network. The special premiered in 2000 with Kings of Comedy talent, Steve Harvey, headlining the show as it's host for 13 of the 14 years it aired.

Celebration of Gospel was known for mixing Gospel greats like The Clark Sisters, Kim Burrell, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, and Shirly Ceasar with R&B greats like Whitney Houston, Monica, Faith Evans, Ledisi, and Kelly Price.

The network says that specials such as: BET Awards, BET Hip-Hop Awards, Black Girls Rock, and BET Honors will all be included in the new line up.

Do you think BET is making a huge mistake? First they take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance and now BET takes God's music out of the line up. Very interesting.
